Dear Jack,

As normally, the fine that you have to pay at the airport is 10$ for one day overstay. However, because of your long overstay, we are not sure about how much you are supposed to be fined.

Kindly regards,
Bella Bui

Hi there

I just realized I have overstayed my Vietnam visa. I leave on march 17 and it will be 18 days over. Is it possible to extend now or should I wait until I get to the airport and pay a fee for staying too long? I would like to avoid causing any trouble.

Thanks

@ To M Nguye:
Thank you for contacting us!

Please be kindly informed that visa extension procedure is simpler now. You do not need to submit the Temporary residence paper any more. Just your origin passport required.

Kind regards,

Anna Quach

What if i never got the Temporary residence paper approved by the hotel where you live at or approved by local authorities where you live in (or ward’s Police Unit). How would I extend my visa?

Official visas, and other types of visa should be applied through the official agencies or government or business sponsor or contact the Vietnam Immigration Department in person.
