  • How many times can someone extend their visa before it becomes a problem?

    • @ To Frank:
      Thank you for contacting us!
At present, we can only assist our clients to get the visa extended at the first time. After that duration, they need to go out of Vietnam and re-apply for a new visa to get back.

  • Hi,

My mom has travelled to VN for two months with her Vietnamese passport. Therefore, she doesn’t need a visa to enter the country. However, she plans to stay there for another two months. The question is – does she need to apply for visa extension?

Thanks much in advance for the info.

    • Dear Anh Tran,

As your mother brings Vietnamese passport, she is still Vietnamese citizen. As a result, she can stay in Vietnam how long she wants.

  • I have been resident in Viet Nam since 1995. I married a Vietnamese citizen in 1997. We own a villa. I am now retired and presently I hold a 5 year multiple entry visa. These are my questions.

What are the law, decree, circular, numbers that are applicable to my situation here. Why am I required to complete forms and have my Passport stamped every 3 months by Immigration? Is there a less onerous method for residence that I should pursue, such as a PRC. Thanks.

    • Dear Alan,

According to Vietnam Immigration Regulation, person who owns 5 year visa exemption has to leave the country after every 3 month stay in Vietnam. And every entry, visa will be stamped for 3 months.

This type of visa could be regarded as the longest visa currently for foreigner living in Vietnam. And we are afraid that there is no way for you.

      Kindly regards,
      Bella Bui

  • Dear Sir/Mdm,

  • Hello! I need a tourist visa extension for only 2 days, my visa expires on the 2nd of may and I’m leaving on the 4th. Would it be cheaper for me to get the extension o to pay a penalty for the days my visa will be expired, Many thanks!

  • Hi,

I have been living in Vietnam since 2007 with B3 visa extensions, now I am planning to apply for a work permit, but the problem is my current visa will expire on 13th May, and my Passport will expire in July 2012, and I also came to know from the agent now its very hard to do the visa extension for Indians.

Could you kindly let me know is there any company which could assist me to extend my visa for 1 month or at least 15 days? If I have the visa or just the stamp for 15 days I can apply for a new passport and apply for my work permit.

Do you have any suggestions? Kindly note that my visa will expire in May 13th and my last entry was in Hanoi (26th March 2012).

    Thanks in advance

  • Good day!
We are Filipinos and my husband is working in Vietnam for almost two years. I together with our 3 kids applied for a tourist visa in the Philippines for three months and we are now in Vihn City. Our visa will expire on July 15, 2012 and we are planning to extend our visa. What are we going to do. Is there an office here in Vihn City wherein we can renew or extend our visa and what are the requirements? Please advise. Thank you very much.
    Regaards,

  • I am from Sweden and I got 15 free days upon arrival by bus from Phnom Penh in Cambodia
because citizens of the following countries do not require a visa to visit Vietnam for 15 days.
Denmark, Finland, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea and SWEDEN.

Now I want to get a 3 months single entrance tourist visa.
How much does it cost me nowadays? Is it even worth staying in Vietnam for a long time or am I better off in Cambodia, expenditure-wise?
Anyone with PERSONAL experiance of how much the fees are, not just “copy and paste answers”?
    Thanks!

    • Dear John,
In case you enter Vietnam by bus, you cannot apply for Vietnam visa on arrival which is applied to those traveling by air ONLY. You, in this case, should contact the nearest Vietnam embassy to apply for Visa to Vietnam. And the visa fee will be different from embassy to embassy. You should contact one of them for more information.

Or you have another option which is to enter Vietnam by air and therefore apply for Vietnam visa on arrival. With this option, you can see the visa cost in our fee page.

      Wish you all good things.
      Kind regards,
      Vietnam-visa.com
