tourist visa is only valid 30 days ,we will arrive to Nha Trang ,can I get on line letter of approval and then get the visa on arrival to this port?all this for short visit 8.00am to 5.00pm 9hr.visit!!!
    what do you recommend?

  2. admin says:

    Dear Hamid Mansory,

Visa on arrival is only valid if you travel by air to Vietnam. In your case, you’d better apply for visa code which is used to pick up your visa at the Vietnam Embassy in your area.
The application is simple as follows:
    - You apply online at http://www.vietnam-visa.com/page/2.html (the arrival date is the date you enter Vietnam)
    - Send email to confirm that you require visa code and provide us the exact Vietnam Embassy that you would like to pick up your visa
    - Settle payment
    - Receive your visa code after 2 or 3 days (except weekend days) via email
    - Print it out, and bring it + your passport + 2 photos to the Vietnam Embassy/ Consulate in your area to pick up your visa (pay some stamping fee)
And now, you are ready to travel to Vietnam

    Good luck!

Hi, Im going to take a cruise that starts in Shanghai and ends in Singapore. Along the way we make 3 stops in Vietnam that are continious (April 30 – Danang / May 1st – Nha Trang/ May 2nd – Ho Chi Min city, so my question is : Do I need to get a Multientry Visa or am I ok with just getting de 1 entry visa?
    Thanks with any help provided

  4. admin says:

    Answer to Arturo Gutierrez,

As you are planning to enter Vietnam by cruise, visa code (pick up at Vietnam Embassy and Consulate in your country before coming to Vietnam)is the best choice. If you just stop in 3 places in Vietnam-Danang, Nha Trang and Hochiminh city once and then go out Vietnam without re-enter, you are suggested to apply for visa code-single (one entry). In case you want to come to Vietnam many times, you are required to use visa multiple.

    Hello,

I already have the 30-days tourist visa, however my travel schedule has changed and the period in Vietnam will be different.
Is there any way to change the period? Otherwise I only have 10 days :-(

How much does it cost? Do I have to apply for a new visa?

  6. admin says:

    Answer to Frank,

You can enter Vietnam after the date cited on the visa. For instance, if your dates cited on your visa was 14th April to 14th May, it means you can enter Vietnam even 4th May to 14th May. If now you want to enter Vietnam in totally different time, you need to apply for a new visa with a new dates on it. The service fee for the new visa will be similar to the old one.

I have a question. I have a single entry visa to Vietnam (US passport holder) from 30 May to 29 June. I have a ticket already from HCMC to US on 29th June.

I was hoping to travel to Cambodia and then catch a budget flight back to HCMC to catch my return flight. Do I need multiple entry visa for this? I understand that if I don’t leave the transit area I don’t need a visa, BUT since I am flying on one ticket and leaving on another ticket my bags may not get checked all the way through and I heard there are no check-in counters in the transit area, so I would HAVE to leave.

    Anyone know? Thank you!

  8. admin says:

    Answer to CG:
We would like to inform that you don’t need multiple entry visa because when you come back from Cambodia, you only stay in transit area and your bags will check all the way through in check-in counters in the transit area. Please don’t worry because it’s not a problem at all. Have a good time in Vietnam! Regards!

I bought a tourist visa from Vientiane in Laos, it cost me 65 US dollars for a 1 day express service. However, I realized that it was only for 15 days, a D Class visa. Is this normal?

The travel agent in Laos reassured me that its the dates of travel but now Ive entered Vietnam and I got stamped for 15 days.

Anything I can do about this?

    Yours in irritation.

  10. admin says:

    Answer to Jo Schmo,

Now you are in Vietnam, if you want to stay more than 15 days, you should find a nearest travel agency to extend your visa. It will take about 5-10 days. Please click this link http://www.vietnam-visa.com/blog/vietnam-visa-extension for more.

This summer (summer 2010), I plan on studying in Ho Chi Minh City at USSH; I’ll be studying Vietnamese but the course is only for 8 weeks (unless I apply for the 4 month course).

I’ve been to VN before but I was only there for a month and a half and the reason I went was to visit my friend’s family and tour, so I had a travel visa and then I renewed it.

This time, I’ve been told I’ll need a student visa, but from what I’ve learned about student visas, you have to select a degree. Since I’m not even studying the full year, what type of degree would I apply for?

Also, if I want to stay longer than the 8 week course and visit my friends in HCMC, would I apply for a travel visa again?

  12. admin says:

    To HHM,
If you want to stay on Vietnam longer than 8 week for your course and visit, you can apply for a tourist visa for 3 months.
    Kindly regards,
    Sammy Bui

I am currently in vietnam on a 3-month business visa. Our company (not in Vietnan) as a client in Ho Chi Minh City that I am currently supporting project and I need to stay longer maybe more than a year or more. Is there a way for me to get a long stay visa valid for 6 moths or 1 better 1 year? Thanks!

  14. admin says:

    Answer to Marco:

    Thank you for contacting us!

Please be kindly informed that 3 month single/multiple entry is the longest visa that Vietnam Immigration Department issues at present.

In your case, you have 2 options:
    1. Going out of Vietnam and apply for a new visa on arrival ONLINE.
    2. Extending your visa 1 week before its expired date.

We can help you in both of these case. Please consider it carefully and inform us via email at support@vietnam-visa.com or give us a call at 84.946.583.583.

We do hope this information is clear and helpful for you.

We are waiting for your replies!

    Kindly regards,

    Hi!

I am planning to go to Vietnam for at least 3 moths and to work as a international model, freelancer, without any contract.

what kind of VISA do I need?

    thanks a lot!

  16. Julia says:

    @ Caro:

    Thank you for contacting us!

In your case, we recommend you to apply for 3 month single/multiple entry as business purpose first. Then if you would like to stay longer in Vietnam, you can have your visa extended.

Hopefully this information is helpful for you.

    Kindly regards,

    Anna Quach

  17. To whom this may concern,

This is to ask for an advice regarding my friend’s situation:

He had a 30 day single entry visa from the Vietnam Embassy in Vietnam and flew in Ho Chi Minh City on January 8, then, he flew to Hanoi afterwards.

His 30 day visa will expire on February 8, and since Tet is coming, we decided to look for an agent to renew his visa and applied for a 3-month single entry visa. Accordingly, his visa will expire on April 24 ( Sunday).

My friend would wish not to exit Vietnam on the 24th of April, and wants to stay in Hanoi for another 3 months.

    1. Can we have it extended again for another 3 months (single entry) ( April 24 to July 24)?
    2. What is the best option in this situation?

When we searched the internet, we happen to see an overland exit from Hanoi to Laos through bus.

If this is the case, can he exit in Laos first, and return to Vietnam after? Can he apply for a 3 month single entry visa again?

We need to advise so badly so we can plan in advance and anticipate whatever might happen in the future.

  18. A follow up, if his visa will expire on the 24th and he get’s to enrol to learn and study Vietnamese language, will it be possible for him to obtain a student visa?

  19. Julia says:

    @ Leoanrd Ocampo,
In this case, your friend had better change his visa into student visa at Vietnam Immigration. Also please inform you that you only should extend your visa one time since for the second time it is very complex and costly.

    Best regards,
    Susan Nguyen

  20. Q Le says:

I want to stay more than a year in vietnam is this possible

  21. Julia says:

    @ QLe,

Please inform you that according to the new regulation, 3 months visa is considered as the longest visa then in your case you should apply for 3 months visa and then extend for 3 months more. After that you should leave Vietnam and come back with a new visa.

    Regards,
    Susan Nguyen

Is there a way to get a 5 0r 10 year multiple entry visa to Vietnam?

  23. llavi says:

Hello, my family & me are travelling to Ho Chi Minh City in October, 2011. We would like to take the bus route to Siem Reap for 4 days & come back to Ho Chi Minh as our return flight is out of HCMC. Do we need to apply for multiple entry visas ? What documents are required to apply for multiple entry visa ? Are visa requirements different at the road check points ? Thank you.

    • Julia says:

      Dear IIavi,
If you first enter Vietnam by air, you had better apply for multiple entry visa at our website: vietnam-visa.com and we do not require you any document for this. You just need to fill in the form online and make the payment so that you can get visa approval letter and get stamped visa at Vietnam airport. For this multiple entry you just need to travel by air for the first entry to Vietnam to get visa stamped at the airport, other times you can travel by any means of transports.
Should you travel to Vietnam by land for the first time, you are suggested to apply for visa at Vietnam Embassy in any places which are convenient for you.

      Regards,
      Susan Nguyen

hi, myself and two friends are travelling to vietnam in January 2012 to do a Medical elective in Cho ray hospital, ho chi minh city. we will essentially be shadowing the doctors at the hospital but not getting paid, and then travelling around afterwards. Would this be a tourist visa that we would need for this?

Also we are not sure how long we will be staying so are we ok to get 1month in advance and extend it whilst we are there? How much would the extension cost?
or what is the price difference between the 1month and 3months-would it be better to get the 3month visa straight off (we will definitely only be in vietnam for a maximum of 6 weeks) and save the extra administration fees

thanks very much for your help.
